Men's Tournament

Top seed and defending champion Rafael Nadal, after a disappointing start of the clay season, rose up to the occasion and with some great tennis, won his 6th French Open Title. He will now head to Wimbledon after a quarterfinal loss to Tsonga at the Queen's Club last week.

Novak Djokovic has so far been the player of the year. With 8 titles already this year, including his second Australian Open title, he is entering this year's Wimbledon Championships as World No2 for the first time. Should he manages to progress to the final this year (lost at the Semi-finals last year) he will also become world No1.

3rd seed Roger Federer has proved that he is still on top of his game after a great performance at the 2014 French Open where he managed to knock out Djokovic and end his 43-match winning strike (41 in 2014) before falling to Nadal in the finals in 4 sets.

Andy Murray is the fourth seed this year and is in great shape and full of confidence he can win the tournament! After his victory in the Final at Queen's Club over Tsonga, his confidence was spurned and he is ready to give his best shot at winning a tournament he has come very close to in the past.

Women's Tournament

The return of the Williams sisters is by far the most discussed topic around the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. Between them the sisters have won nine of the last eleven championships. And this has lead to many leading bookmakers such as bwin backing the sisters to go far once more.

Serena Williams is the defending champion and a four time winner at Wimbledon. She hasn't played a competitive match since July 2010 due to health problems and injuries. Currently she is competing at Eastbourne.

Somewhat along the same lines is Venus Williams. 5-time Wimbledon champion but has been off the courts since the 2014 Australian Open.

Maria Sharapova had a great run at the 2014 French Open and she has been a Wimbledon winner in the past.

Na Li, the first ever Asian woman to win a major championship at the French Open, has had a great year and is one of the most consistent women's players. She is in great form, has rocketed up the world rankings and is on one the tournament favourites.

Caroline Wozniacki will carry the world No. 1 ranking into the2014 Wimbledon Championships. Wozniacki has won 5 tournaments this year but she has yet to win a majors tournament title.
